Turkish Stem Cell Therapy and its inclusive controversy
Entering Romania the previous evening was quite exciting. At the border control, we ran into someone who was involved in the production of the movie Gandhi and was super excited to see a Delhi number plate all the way in Romania! He strongly recommended Bran Castle and the drive up there, which we enjoyed as well..
Apart from the stunning views, Romania is also home to the world’s first Multifunctional Autism Therapy and Research Centre. Located in Bucharest, this centre is at the forefront of pioneering therapy and conducting groundbreaking research for individuals with autism.
Just like the diverse landscapes of Romania, therapy for autism also involves embracing diversity and finding unique paths to help individuals on their journey to growth and development. While this is a huge jump, considering that in 1989 over 170,000 orphans with autism-like symptoms were found neglected in institutional settings in Romania, there’s still a long way to go. With so many misunderstandings and misconceptions out there, it’s crucial to work towards destigmatization and change the way society perceives and understands autism therapy.
It’s crucial to highlight the significance of therapy and the positive impact it has on the lives of individuals with autism but also acknowledge the underlying biases that tend to drive these therapeutic interventions.
As we celebrated the second anniversary of our cause, #inclusiveduniya, I’m realizing just how many aspects of information we need to shed light on. The journey is long and similar to our travel through Romania will come with their many twists and turns.
So, in Romanian tradition, let’s raise a glass of palincă and toast the strides made and the winding roads that lie ahead!
